Bold Colors – Strong Lines, Demons – Animals Portrayed, Masked for the Theatre

Kabuki is an old art form from Japan, dating back to the 1600’s. These masks were used in theatre and were painted with bright, over the top and stylized colors, allowing them to be seen by the whole audience. Kabuki masks could feature humans, demons, or animals.
